
Sophie-Barat Water Sports Site
GUEPE manages this water sports site and offers introductions to kayaking and activities guided by nature educators in addition to kayak and canoe rentals. A great way to explore the Back River (rivière des Prairies).
Save time by signing the risk acknowledgment and acceptance form, which can be found in the “My Account” section when you create an account on our platform, before arriving onsite.

Introduction to Kayaking activties ($) are available during the water sports site’s operating hours, subject to equipment and staff availability. Please call in advance to confirm availability and reserve your time slot.
Groups
- We invite you to make your request by email by sending the information about your event to the following address: pleinair@guepe.qc.ca.
- We are only able to welcome groups during the opening period of the water sports sites.
- The terms and conditions remain the same as those of the rental service.

- Waterproof bags available for water activities.
Parking
- Sophie-Barat Pool (10851, avenue Saint-Charles) : please visit the city's website to find out when parketing is free.
- Parking is available on Basile-Routhier Street (near the Parcours Gouin welcome pavilion) or on nearby streets, but spaces are limited. Please read the signs carefully before parking.
Good to Know
- A 10-minute walk from the Henri-Bourassa station.
- For a safe and enjoyable experience, consider bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, closed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
- In case of bad weather conditions (thunderstorms, high winds, etc.), activities may be cancelled and GUEPE staff will contact you.
- It is mandatory to remain in the designated zone at all times.
