Ped Day With GUEPE

Over the course of the day, your school transforms into a nature park! With the help of our passionate nature educators, four ecosystems will reveal themselves to you!

CONTENT AND DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY

The activity will consist of a rotation between four blocks of 1 hour in four different spaces in your school. Each block will have an exosystem as its theme. The ecosystems are the following :

• Marsh : includes a race, the opportunity to discover the adaptations of marsh animals and a live animal;
• Urban environment : includes games about insect sounds, wild and domestic animals, as well as animal diets;
• Forest : includes an introduction to using binoculars, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating world of trees;
• Aquatic environment : includes a team identification of Québec fish, a fun story for little ones, and knowledge on fantastic fish adaptations.

A living animal (toad or garter snake) will take part in our activity!*

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACTIVITY

• 1 gymnasium;
• 1 large room (ex. : the daycare room, the library, the cafeteria, half of the gymnasium, etc.);
• 2 classrooms.

If the weather permits it, portions of the activity may be held outdoors, in the school yard.

GOOD TO KNOW

There are additional fees for transportation.

Minimum of three (3) groups, maximum of four (4) groups. Maximum of 30 kids per group.

A group supervisor must be present suring the activity with the nature educator.

Ideally, groups should be formed with kids of a similar age.

Seasoned insect tasting available (for an additional fee).

*The choice of the live animal is at the discretion of the nature educator. In the event of a discomfort or phobia towards a particular animal, please specify when booking.
