Nature Exploration

GUEPE offers 2 or 3-hour activities that will allow campers to discover nature and become apprentice naturalists. Choose your five favorite ones to create your one-week program.

CONTENTS

1. The Trees and the Forest : Explore and discover the trees that surround us and the forest ecosystem (and take a walk in the forest, if the location permits it)
2. Birds : Explore the world of birds through team games, an introduction to binoculars and the identification of common species;
3. Insects : Discover the biggest animal group on Earth and capture some specimens with a net;
4. Mammals : Explore the main furry animals of our forests and identify traces, tracks and other signs of their presence;
5. The River : Play an active game to learn the main species of fish of the region, what sets them apart from others and the mysteries of their ecosystem;
6. Survival : Discover techniques to build shelters and to light a fire.

Possible to do 3 hrs/day to go deeper into the theme.

REQUIREMENTS

To make the most of your activity, we recommend a natural space, with access to a forest and a stream or river, less than 15 minutes away from your camp on foot.

GOOD TO KNOW

Maximum 25 kids per group. It is therefore possible to combine more than one camp group.

Only one monitor must be present during the activity with the nature educator, which could free up one of your monitors during the activity if groups are combined.

Ideally, groups should be formed with kids of a similar age.

There may be additional fees for transportation.
